About this cause:

Greenpeace work in Russia ranges from restoring forests across different regions in Russia with the help of local children to promoting energy efficient technologies and renewable energy sources as the foundation of the Russian energy sector.

Lately we have been actively campaigning for reinstating an independent forest protection service. We believe is the most effective immediate measure that can help prevent the terrible fire catastrophe from happening again and that it needs to be done NOW!

It is a principle of Greenpeace to accept donations only from individuals and private foundations in order to preserve our independence from corporate and state interests. Greenpeace has been adhering to this principle from the day of inception. Unfortunately, private donations to charity in Russia are rare. Only 15% of our annual budget is raised inside Russia with the rest coming from regional Greenpeace foundations.

We believe that the future of the environment rests with the many people who share our beliefs.

Деятельность Гринписа в России простирается от восстановления лесов в различных областях России (при помощи детей) до продвижению энергосберегающих технологий и возобновляемых источников энергии как фонда российского энергетического сектора.

В последнее время мы активно проводили кампанию по восстановлению независимой охране лесов. Мы верим, самая эффективная и непосредственная мера, которая может помочь предотвратить ужасную катастрофу лесного пожара в будущем, должна быть сделана уже сейчас!

Это - принцип Гринписа, принимать пожертвования только от людей и частных фондов, чтобы сохранить нашу независимость от интересов корпораций и государств. Гринпис придерживался этого принципа со дня своего основания. К сожалению, частные благотворительные пожертвования в России редки. Они составляют только 15 % нашего годового бюджета, собранного в России.

Мы полагаем, что будущее окружающей среды зависит от многих людей, которые разделяют наши принципы.
